Handball-at-School in Denmark
(Steen Hjorth)
Handball was originated as a school sport - in Nyborg in 1897, where the Danish teacher Rasmus Ernst Pedersen forbade his pupils to kick to a ball. Instead they began to throw the ball to each other. The teacher had an idea and started to create some rules - and the first version of handball was born.
