Working on handball entails a much broader spectrum of work than "merely" concentrating on competitions, tournaments and active handball players of the senior categories.

To guarantee the continuous success of the sport, also in the future, is it very important to make handball accessible to children and pupils by providing them - and their coaches and teachers - with the means and facilities to play handball.

In the period of 15 September 05 - 15 December 05 the EHF established the pilot project "InterSchoolCompetion". 8 schools with pupils between the age of 12 - 14 years were involved in this pilot project. The EHF InterSchoolCompetition is a combination of a sporting, a knowledge and a creative competition combined with social aspects such as fair play, respect and honesty.
